Marketing Communications Notice
SERENADA MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS NOTICE
Penny Play Ltd
Version 1.0 | Effective 7th June 2026 | Penny Play Ltd, company number 15920703
This notice explains what you are agreeing to when you tick the box asking us to send you tips, artist opportunities and updates about Serenada. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more fully how we handle your personal data.
1. Who we are
Serenada is operated by Penny Play Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15920703), whose registered office is at 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.
You can contact us at any time at info@serenada.music.
2. What you are agreeing to receive
If you tick the box, you are agreeing that we may send you messages in the following categories. What you actually receive will depend on whether you have an artist or a listener account, and how you use Serenada.
- Product news and updates. New features, changes and improvements to Serenada.
- Tips and guidance. Practical help on getting the most from Serenada, such as uploading, artwork, metadata, releases and building an audience.
- Artist opportunities. Playlist consideration, competitions, showcases, sync and licensing opportunities, partnerships, and early access to new tools.
- Discovery and editorial. New music, artist spotlights, playlists and recommendations based on what you listen to or upload.
- Community and events. Live sessions, meetups, launches, Q&As and other Serenada events, online and in person.
- Research and testing. Surveys, feedback requests, beta programmes and invitations to help shape the product.
- Invitations and referrals. Invitations to bring other artists or listeners to Serenada, and any referral schemes we run.
- Offers relating to Serenada. Paid plans, promotions and discounts on our own products and services.
3. How we may contact you
Where you have given us the relevant details and permissions, we may contact you by:
- Email to the address on your account.
- In-app and on-site messages shown while you are using Serenada.
- Push notifications if you have enabled them on your device.
- SMS or messaging apps only where you have given us a mobile number and chosen this option.
You can control these separately. Turning off push notifications on your device, for example, does not change your email preferences. If we ever want to contact you through a materially different channel from those listed above, we will ask you again first.
4. How we decide what to send you
We try to send things that are actually relevant rather than everything to everyone. To do that we may look at:
- your account type, for example artist or listener;
- the music you upload, play, save or follow;
- the features you use and how you use them;
- the country or region you are in; and
- whether you opened or clicked previous messages.
We do not make decisions about you that produce legal effects, or similarly significant effects, based solely on automated processing.
5. What we will not do
Our commitments to you
- We will not sell your personal data.
- We will not pass your contact details to other companies so that they can market to you.
- We will not send you marketing on behalf of third parties unless we have asked you separately, told you who they are, and you have agreed.
- We will not make marketing consent a condition of using Serenada. You can say no and use the product exactly as normal.
6. Essential messages you will always receive
Some messages are part of running your account and are not marketing. You will continue to receive these whether or not you tick the box, for as long as you have an account with us. They include:
- account set-up, email verification, password resets and security alerts;
- confirmations and problems relating to uploads and content, such as an upload failing or a track going live;
- copyright claims, takedown notices and moderation decisions affecting your content;
- royalty statements, payments and payment problems;
- changes to our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, and other legal or regulatory notices; and
- replies to questions you send us.
These messages contain administrative information only and do not promote anything.
7. Changing your mind
You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us at info@serenada.music, and we will stop sending you marketing messages. Where we send you marketing emails, they will also include an unsubscribe link.
We will action your request as soon as we can and in any event within a few days. You may receive messages that were already in the process of being sent during that short window.
Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything we sent before you withdrew it, and it will not affect the essential messages described in section 6.
8. How long we keep your preferences
We keep a record of your current marketing preference for as long as you have an account, so that we can honour your choice.
We review marketing consents periodically. If you have not engaged with our messages for a long time, we may stop sending them or ask you to confirm that you still want to hear from us.
9. Your rights
You have the right to be informed about how we use your data, and to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to that use, and in some cases to receive your data in a portable form. Our Privacy Policy explains these rights and how to exercise them.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, although we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. If we make a material change to the kinds of messages we send or the ways we send them, we will let you know, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent again rather than relying on the consent you gave before. The version number and effective date at the top of this notice will always tell you which version applies.
In short
Tick the box and we will send you useful things: product updates, tips, opportunities, and the occasional invitation.
Leave it unticked and you will still get everything you need about your account. Nothing about Serenada works differently.
Either way, you can change your mind whenever you like, and we will never sell your data or hand your details to anyone else to market to you.
